Another Regions Question

Hi all,

Has anyone figured out how to use a combination of the C-Plane (i.e. the grid plane) and the automated Curve/Region tools such as "All Flat Area Regions" or "Extract Edge Curves" to create a region (or regions) just on the selected C Plane? These new VM5 tools are terrific for creating complex regions from a part's geometry, but they also create lots of (potentially) unecessary regions.

If there is a way to use these tools just on the C-Plane - that would give a lot more control and flexibility.

Cheers, Peter

That would be great.

Project to CPlane would be great too.

Yes that would be handy. For the time being, I just use "All Flat Area Regions" to create regions in an empty layer, then switch to side view and rectangle select and delete all regions that are not in the CPlane. Works well enough for my stuff. Of course, If you have tru 3-D parts a projection tool would be much more powerful (in addition to all the mouse-clicks you could save).
