Dongle stopped working

I'm running the Mecsoft Alibre Plugin 2015 (yes, I know it's old but it's all I need) and one of the two dongles I have now refuses to work. It played up for a while then eventually died. I guessed that it was probably the Flash memory that had given up the ghost since it has probably been worn out by being accessed too many times. Anyway, with nothing to lose I replaced the memory chip, and it definitely recognises that it's there. However, there's surely going to be something written to it, so the question is how to do that?
Presumably there's a utility that will let you read and write the dongle just like you can with USB devices?
I know what the Dongle ID and the two codes are, so I ought to be able to reinstate them.
Can anyone tell me how to do this, because Mecsoft refuse to help, even though they clearly could.
Any help would be much appreciated.
