Using Solidworks with VCC - drill point problem

I am building cabinet drawers with finger joints on a CNC router. I design in Solidworks, explode parts into VCC and nest them followed by CAM. The finger joints present a problem. To clear the inside corners of the joint, I want to drill a hole prior to routing the finger joint. The center of the hole is outside the final solid model. I don't know how to model this information in SW so that the STEP file still contains the center point of the hole. Suggestions?
