I am using Visual Mill 6 Standard and have a project that involves tapping a lot of small holes in gummy aluminum, and of course I am breaking more taps that I enjoy. My mill has a Fanuc 0i control with rigid tapping, and I modified the control parameters so any time I call a G84 tapping cycle it adds the M29 spindle index command so theoretically everything should be synced up.
Having a peck tapping cycle would really be nice, but I am wondering if I could emulate one by using a G84/M29 tap cycle 6mm deep, retract, then cycling again at 9mm deep? Has anyone tried it? I am running out of taps and UPS does not show up here until late in the day.

Re: Peck Tapping Work Around
Hi Mickey,
I have the exact same problem. I have a Fanuc 0i MC and I need to tap lots of aluminum. I don't have the rigid tapping set up. I need help when it comes to code.
Can you share your post with me?
Did you get the pecking cycle to work?
