Hello everyone I am new to this software and was wondering if it is possible to select a single surface as region rather than drawing a curve around it?? It does seem odd if you couldnt. Can anyone help?????

You can use the Rhino's "Duplicate Border"command and select the surface to extract the border as a curve. Use this curve as a region in RhinoCAM.
