Gents;
Do any of you chamfer with your spot drills? If so have you come up with a method that works with the simulation to give an accurate depiction? What tool type are you using and how are specifying the stock and cut depth? I am getting this to work but my simulation isn't coming out correctly.

Chamfering with a Spot Drill?
GreggT,
I use a Taper Mill, since I can't seem to mill with a drilling tool. I define the TaperMill exactly as a spot drill, with say a 0.01 diameter at the bottom, 45 degree sides, etc. When you create your chamfering profile, set the depth at half the tool radius (or thereabouts), and set the stock to -0.02 for a 0.02 chamfer, for example. Seems to work just fine.
