adding a WCS

Post by zr8cnc »

I am currently working on a project where I have purchased a part that now I want to machine a pocket out of it. The part is not square or rectangle and therefore I need to place the WCS in a particular location on the part. I cannot seem to do this in Visualmill. When I choose the pick WCS command it just puts the WCS in the one spot I picked. I want to have the freedom to pick 3 surfaces for my X, Y and Z locations.

Can anyone help with this?

You can create the CAD tools to create a point using the 3 surfaces you have in question and then you can snap to this point to create the MCS

thank you very much for the support. I added the point in Solidworks then was easily able to pick that point in Visualmill and make my work zero
